We invest our own capital in three areas: buy-and-build platforms, real estate and financial structuring, and technology. No fund, no fixed horizon, no forced exit.

UMICO invests across three areas. Each has its own vehicle, its own people and its own way of working — but the same capital behind it, and the same absence of a deadline.
Buy & build
Through Paragon Capital, together with our partners, we acquire and combine established businesses into groups that can do more than any of them could alone. Our current platform is Wey & Fields Group, now seven accountancy and administration firms in the Netherlands.
Real estate & financial structuring
Equity in development and redevelopment projects, and the structuring and restructuring of capital in complex situations. We underwrite in-house and are comfortable being the party that designs the structure as well as the one that funds it.
Technology
Minority positions in companies applying advanced technology to industrial and scientific problems — among them Jungle AI, VSParticle and Nostics.
How we work
We invest our own money.
There is no fund behind UMICO and no external mandate. That changes what we can agree to. We can hold for fifteen years, structure an earn-out around a seller's retirement rather than a fund's exit window, and decline a deal that would look good on paper and bad in practice.
We build, we don't trade.
Returns come from what a business becomes over a decade: better systems, better people, a more durable market position. Entry price matters. It has never been the point.
We work with a small number of people, closely.
Where we invest with partners, we say so. Where we invest alone, we say that too. You should always know exactly who is on the other side of the table.
